The ETA / Peseux caliber 7001 is a mechanical hand-wound watch movement with 17 jewels and sub second. The most notable attribute of this caliber is its ultra slim height of only 2.5mm. Size: 10 1/2 lignes = diameter 23.80mm, Incabloc, vibrations per hour 21,600 bph (3Hz). Power reserve of this watch movement: 42 - 45h. Hands 1.40, 0.80 and 0.20mm. This watch movement has been in production since 1971. The ETA 7001 is used as the base watch movement for other vintage calibers including the Peseux Caliber 7040 and Omega caliber 651. Caliber 7001 was also used in NOMOS watches from about 1992 until 2005. Fabrique d’ebauches de Peseux, S.A. AKA Peseux was an ebauche movement house which was acquired by ETA in 1985. The watch movement caliber 7001 was manufactured under the Peseux name from 1971 until 1985. From 1985 until today, the 7001 is still produced by ETA. You may see this caliber referred to as the ETA 7001, Peseux 7001, or even the ETA Peseux 7001.
