The BERGEON 8001 friction ball is squishy and tacky and creates a large contact area with the watch case back. It allows you to get an excellent grip on the case back and makes opening screw on case backs simple. It is inexpensive, and is guaranteed not to leave marks on your watch case. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work with the Bergeon ball (but 70-80%). If the watch case back is screwed on very tightly, you need a classic watch case opener first, to slightly loosen the screwed-on back. In combination, these two case openers are a perfect team and a worthwhile investment for hobbyist watchmakers and professionals.
